Baking at home doesn’t have to be difficult!
With our ABC’s of home baking guide, you will soon find out that baking really can be a piece of cake. It’s time to put your apron on and start reading our basic rules of home baking, because soon you will be on your way to making the perfect cakes and cupcakes!
A rack should always be in the center of the oven, unless otherwise specified! Also, don’t forget to preheat the oven before getting started.
Mise En Place
You always want to set up and prep your ingredients before starting. This will make the baking process easier, plus you won’t have to measure out ingredients while you work. Pro tip: Order a baking kit from our shop and you won’t have to do any measuring at all!
Take Your Time
Don’t rush baking! Taking your time will make the process easier, and the finished product even sweeter!
Wet vs. Dry
Make sure to handle wet and dry ingredients separately unless your recipe specifies combining the two. This general rule will answer a lot of questions!
Read Recipes Thoroughly
Always read through a recipe at least two times before starting. This way you know what’s ahead and everything you will need.
Look For Quality Ingredients
Use the best ingredients available, always. Yes it might have you searching high and low, but by using quality ingredients in your baking, you’re sure to have a dessert that will wow everyone! Pro tip: We can help with that!
