New York’s Best: Fireworks Viewing Spots

With rooftops, parks, and bridges to choose from, celebrate The 4th of July with a bang this year in NYC!

 

For this year’s fireworks festivities, we’ve found some of the best viewing spots all over the city. The show begins around 9:20 p.m. and lasts for about 30 minutes on the East River; so just sit back, relax (with a drink or a treat), and enjoy the bright lights!

 

Brooklyn Bridge Park

With incredible views of the Manhattan skyline and 85 acres of land right next to the East River, Brooklyn Bridge Park is hands down the best spot to view the show. Be sure to get there with lots of time to spare: it fills up quickly!

 

Brooklyn Heights Promenade

Right next door to Brooklyn Bridge park, the promenade has gorgeous views of the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge! Since it’s another prime spot, be prepared to camp out well before sundown!

 

Grand Ferry Park

Want a spot that’s a little quieter? Grand Ferry Park has you covered. Right on the edge of Williamsburg, you’ll be sure to find good food and more (much needed) space!

Take a stroll before claiming your viewing spot at the Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City, Queens. With well-maintained gardens, pet-friendly walkways, and the city skyline as your background, this is the perfect spot to enjoy the fireworks without too much hustle and bustle.

 

South Street Seaport

The South Street Seaport is right at the tip of Manhattan and in front of all the action. This year, they have events all day long, so bring a camera, some sunscreen, and enjoy!

 

Berry Park

Not only does this spot have indoor and outdoor rooftop areas, there’s no cover! Get here early to enjoy drink specials starting at 2 p.m.; seats are first come, first serve!

Staying in Jersey this 4th of July weekend? No problem. Surf City in Jersey City has gorgeous views of the Hudson River fireworks show. Plus, there’s no cover! It’s the perfect place to sip some cocktails and celebrate America.
