Take the Cake: Bite-sized Inspiration for the Savvy Baker

Baking with Fashionista Blogger MyStylePill

Last Sunday our friend and style-icon Christine came over to bake our latest recipe: Matcha Green Tea cupcakes.

At first, she was a little nervous. She couldn’t even remember the last time she had sifted flour, let alone made her own frosting (um, never). But she rolled up her sleeves, was soon in the thick of it, and was an absolute pro!

First, let us start by telling you about how cool Christine is. She’s a personal stylist, writer, and editor of her website, which she launched in the fall of 2008, My Style Pill. She collaborates with amazing brands and trend forecasts fashion (so cool!). Her website is a content hub full of personal style, outfit remixes, inspiring her followers to make the most of their own closets. Her work has even been featured in Vogue, Glamour, Lucky and People Stylewatch! Needless to say, she’s one cool lady (and way more fashion-forward than we are).

Secondly, we’d like to tell you that Christine approached baking cupcakes like we would imagine she does styling fashion. She was focused, detailed, and determined to make each and every photo she took look amazing. She chronicled her entire baking adventure from start to finish, and even had time to capture a bunch of snapchats!

Finally, baking with a fashionista was fun and entertaining. We’re not used to baking with non-foodie bloggers but what a delight! A lighting pro, Christine knew exactly where to shoot her final product — a gorgeous cupcake, and just how many gold sprinkles should adorn each matcha-on-matcha sweet. The best part was experiencing a novice baker take our recipe on, conquer each step, and make a batch of stunning treats.

This was absolutely Sunday funday at it’s best!
