1. Get Educated

Before you go spreading your knowledge on breast cancer, you need to know a few things first! Do your research, know the symptoms and know how to prevent it. This is important because believe it or not, many women do not get frequent breast exams however during the month of October, certain clinics will offer FREE mammograms for those who cannot afford them! The key to surviving breast cancer is early detection, so why not schedule your exam today?
2. Social Media
Now that you’ve learned the signs, symptoms and preventative measures – spread the word! Too many people are uneducated when it comes to cancer, so be the expert in your friend group and keep them in the know.
3. Participate in walks, runs or fundraisers
Check out your local newspaper or your town’s online event calendar to see what kind of events are being held for Breast Cancer Awareness month! Make it a fun weekend activity with your friends to do a walk or run and raise money for a good cause while doing so! In some cities, there are even fashion galas and gym classes that fundraise for women’s health charities!
4. Buy from companies who donate to charities
Brands in October make it easy to be charitable when they offer products where a certain percentage of proceeds go to charity.
Buy a cute Spiral Sun Charm Alex & Ani bangle and 20% of the purchase price will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation!
During the month of October, 15% of all bra sales at H&M will go towards Rethink Breast Cancer, so buy that cute bra you’ve had your eyes on for weeks – it’s worth it!
5. Bright Pink
In our efforts to raise money for breast cancer awareness, we made our PINK velvet cupcakes baking kit! Not only are they the most delicious pink velvet cupcakes you’ve ever baked, BUT 20% of our sales go to Bright Pink – a women’s health charity!
